The King Who Is to Come, Introduction

Revelation 1:1-8 a.m.

From Series: "Revelation: The King Who Is to Come"

In this series we will study the Apostle John’s announced purpose to convey grace and peace to us from Christ “who is, and who as, and who is to come, the Almighty” (Rev. 1:4,8). In John’s gospel he informs us that Christ is and always has been because he was even present at the creation (John 1:1). That same gospel also describes how Christ was present in the world through his incarnation. Now John fills out the rest of the encouraging story of our Savior by explaining that he is coming to set up his righteous Kingdom on earth. By grace alone, his followers will be citizens of that Kingdom. And those who anticipate his coming will alone have peace in this world even while the battle rages between King Jesus and the Devil’s minions.
