Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy
and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16
Prayer is essential to the Christian life. In addition to your personal prayer life, First Pres wants everyone to be involved in a prayer ministry.
Receive Prayer
Sunday Prayer
Are you in need of prayer? Galatians 6:2 states, “Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Whether that request be small or large, we want to take that burden on with you. We also want to praise the Lord with you during seasons of joy and celebration. The Prayer Ministry is available to pray with and for you in the Session Room (room 102) after each worship service. No request is too big or too small, we are here for you!
Request Prayer
Do you have a need you would like pastors and/or the congregation to know and pray about? You can submit prayer requests online. The pastoral team prays together every Monday for these needs, and your request can also be shared with the Prayer Ministry if you desire.
Sunday School/Parish Prayer
Your Sunday School class and parish are two opportunities to be in community, along with the church. Submit your prayer needs to the leader of your Sunday School class or contact your parish elder or shepherd to share any prayer requests.
Healing Prayer
Once a month on nights we serve communion, elders and pastors are available after evening worship for a time of healing prayer. They will pray with you.
Pray for Others
Sunday Prayer Team
In Matthew 18:20 Jesus says, “For where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.” Be a part of the Sunday Prayer Team. The Sunday Prayer team meets in the Session Room (room 102) after each worship service to pray for those who are burdened and praise the Lord with those who are rejoicing.
Missionary Prayer Guide
The online prayer guide provides a snapshot of our missionaries, their ministries, and current prayer requests. We encourage you to regularly pray for our missionaries and consider joining a missionary’s support team to receive ongoing updates.
Pray for Me Campaign
The Pray for Me Campaign matches children with adults who are committed to praying for them. Our desire is that intergenerational relationships will form, children will know the comfort and encouragement of knowing someone is praying for them, and adults will receive encouragement from seeing God work in the life of someone for whom they are praying. Sign up to participate in the 2024 campaign!
