The Men’s Ministry at First Pres exists to encourage, disciple, and raise up leaders in the church. We do this by building community, supporting one another, and providing opportunities for spiritual growth and leadership development.

Bible Studies

As a church, we desire every member to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior. We also want to be a place where people feel known, connected, and cared for.  Participating in a Bible study provides the opportunity for both.

Each Bible study group has its own “personality,” and some groups meet on campus while others meet in a parish at a member’s home. Most groups are relatively small, which provides opportunities to get to know one another. These groups stay the same throughout the year, which allows time for relationships to form.

Men’s Events

Iron Man Breakfast

Iron Man Breakfast is a monthly gathering for men that combines a hearty meal with encouragement, fellowship, and meaningful conversation. Taking place on the fourth Thursday of most months, it provides space for men to connect, build friendships, and grow in their walk with Christ. Each breakfast includes time to share, learn, and strengthen one another in faith and life, reflecting the truth of Proverbs 27:17: “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”

Brothers in Arms Retreat

The Brothers in Arms Retreat is an annual gathering that provides solid teaching, encouragement, and fellowship. It offers men the opportunity to step away from daily responsibilities and grow together in Christ. Through engaging teaching, honest conversations, and meaningful connection, participants explore themes such as facing needs and fears together, the value of deep friendships, and moving forward in life side by side.

Community

We want to be a community shaped by grace that provides safe places for men to share their lives, share their struggles, grieve losses, or heal from traumatizing situations in their lives. We have trained shepherds to come alongside our members. We also have small groups called G3 groups to address specific issues and needs. One group specifically for men is the Samson Society Men’s Groups, “a company of Christian men, whose purpose is to assist one another in our common journey.”
