Statement of Commitment and Vows

Below are the expectations of all First Pres officers and the vows that are asked at officer installation.   

Statement of Commitment

Officers of First Prebyterian Church commit to serve in the following ways. Any exceptions or providential hindrances you may have to any of these should be expressed during your interview.

Serve as a Shepherd in a parish and engage with the parish members.

Set an example for the flock.

• Read through the Bible, Westminstrer Confession of Faith, and Larger or Shorter Catechism annually.

• Attend morning and evening worship, Sunday Morning Communities, corporate prayare events, officer meetings, and churchwide events such as Missions Conference, McKnight Lectures, and the Labor Day Family Picnic.

• Give faithfully toward the work of the Church.

• Actively witness by inviting the unsaved (neighbors, colleagues, etc.) to engage wtih the gospel and church events.
