Membership at first pres
Hebrews 10:24-25 calls us to meet regularly with other believers: “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the day drawing near.” Clearly church attendance is important, but there are also reasons to join a local church.
Membership at First Pres means that you have committed yourself to our family of believers, and that you agree to participate as fully as you are able in the life, ministry, and government of our church. In return, the First Pres church family makes a commitment to you. Members of our church are enfolded into our community. In addition, each member is assigned a shepherd who is the first point of contact for spiritual care and support.
First Impressions Brunch
Several times a year we host First Impressions Brunches–a space for guests to begin to connect relationally and learn more about our church family. Come enjoy a delicious meal, meet some of our pastors and ministry leaders, and learn more about the vision and values of First Pres. It’s the perfect first step to connect and ask questions. We can’t wait to meet you!
Inquirers Class
The Inquirers Class is designed for those who are interested in learning more about First Presbyterian Church. The class is required for membership, however participation in the class does not commit you to joining First Pres. The class answers questions about what it means to be a believer in Christ, what it means to be a member of First Presbyterian Church, and what it means to be part of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). We also discuss ways to be involved in the life of our church.
If there is not a class listed below, or if you have any questions, contact Kelly Tabb, 706.262.8831.
