The Men’s Ministry is designed to help connect men to God, the church body and our mission, both in our personal and corporate lives. We are committed to working alongside the existing ministries of the church to accomplish our vision together as well as providing gender-specific opportunities to build community, for discipleship, and for shepherding and care.
Community
Building community is vital to connecting men with each other and the larger church body, and our desire is to develop a diverse and unified body of men committed to building relationships across the generations.
We host men’s events periodically throughout the year. One favorite event is the annual Men’s National Championship Tailgate where men and boys of all ages gather for food, tailgate games, and to watch the National Championship football game.
Discipleship
Bible Study
The systematic study of the Word of God is necessary, foundational, and central for every believer.
We offer men’s and co-ed Bible studies throughout the school year. You can see a list of current studies here, and you are welcome to join at any time.
Officer Development
The Officer Development Class is a one year commitment for men who are interested in learning more about or feel called to serve in a leadership role at First Pres. There will be three classes in the fall and hands-on training in the spring. Contact John Fender for more information.
Shepherding and Care
We want to be a community shaped by grace that provides safe places for men to share their lives, share their struggles, grieve losses, or heal from traumatizing situations in their lives. We have trained shepherds (link to the Shepherds page) to come alongside our members. We also have care groups, called G3 groups to address specific issues and needs.
