March 13, 8:17 p.m.
Dear First Pres Family,
We are reaching out to you again to let you know that your church leadership is monitoring the progression of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) on a daily basis, through the Centers for Disease Control, and local, state, and national recommendations.
During the Sunday School hour this week (March 15), we will be simulcasting a “joint” meeting to various locations around our campus. Dr. Dan Boone of our Safety and Security Team, Dr. Mike Hearon, and Rev. John Barrett will give an update on precautions the church will be taking in view of the Coronavirus outbreak and outline contingency plans as conditions dictate. Most adult classes will be meeting in their usual classrooms, but a listing of the locations follows. (If you are not involved in a Sunday School class, please meet in the sanctuary):
Young Married—Usual Classroom | Room 112
Restorers—Usual Classroom | St. Andrew’s Hall
Sojourners—St. Andrew’s Hall
Cornerstone—Usual Classroom | Letchford Hall
Covenanters—Usual Classroom | Room 114
Trinity—Usual Classroom | Eve Room
We have the utmost concern for the care of our members, and we understand that some of you may fall into the high risk zones of people who should avoid large groups and public spaces. We fully support you in whatever decision you, in consultation with your family and health care professionals, decide is best for you. As much as we love the faithfulness of our members, we love YOU even more and want you to be safe. With that in mind, we will post a recording of the Sunday School meeting as quickly as possible next week. Also, one of the things we will be discussing on Sunday is a plan to post a live feed of our services on our website beginning next Sunday, March 22.
