Advent Sermon Series: A Weary World Rejoices
Sunday Mornings, November 28 – December 26
Our Advent sermon series is titled “A Weary World Rejoices.” There is much in this world that makes us weary, but as God’s people, we have reason to rejoice, and we will spend five weeks exploring the Hope, Peace, Love, and Joy that only Christ can provide.
Love Gift Celebration: Extending Hope to a Weary World
December 5 | 6 p.m.
Sanctuary, Worship Green
Our annual Love Gift Celebration is an opportunity to learn about specific ways our church has extended the love of Christ to others through acts of mercy and to collect an offering for the Mercy Fund. After a short presentation, we will move outside for appetizers and fellowship. Children Pre-K through fifth grade will have a Pajamas & Pancakes dinner followed by class Christmas parties during this time. Registration for children is required.
Evensong Service of Lessons and Carols
December 12 | 4:30 & 6:30 p.m.
The Evensong services will feature Christmas carols from around the world performed by the Chancel, Youth, and Canterbury Choirs with a full orchestra. This is a great opportunity to invite others to join you for a special evening of worship. Nurseries will open at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. for ages three and younger.
Christmas Eve Services
December 24 | 3 & 5 p.m.
Our Christmas Eve Candlelight Services will include traditional Christmas carols, special music, and a message from Pastor Hearon. Nurseries will open at 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. for children age 3 and younger. Children in Pre-K and older will remain in the services to worship with their parents.
Our Advent events provide great opportunities to invite others to join you for worship at First Presbyterian.
