Tornado Relief Team Forming

First Presbyterian is forming a team of volunteers to help restore a heavily damaged Christian camp in Pisgah, Alabama, from Wednesday, June 8 through Sunday, June 12. If you are able to perform physical work for full 8 – 10 hour days, especially if you have expert skills in carpentry, plumbing, electrical and similar fields, you could be of great service on this project. For others, desire, ability and willingness to work in a team setting are the only qualifications necessary.
Our team will be housed in camp facilities and will work in conjunction with Grace Presbyterian Church of Fort Payne, Alabama, to restore the small group camp area. While this project is best suited for adult participation, you may consult with Gerald Killian if you would like to sign up with your junior high or high school teenagers. The only costs involved in participating would be for meals while traveling and for those who choose to drive their own vehicles.
Once fully restored, Camp ToKnowHim will be used as a base camp for volunteer teams from all over the country that want to assist with tornado relief work projects in northeast Alabama through the remainder of the year.
Please contact Gerald Killian, 706.840.2627, by June 3 to participate. To learn more about the camp visit the Camp ToKnowHim website.
